The Generals' Quarters Restaurant is a reminder of the many generals who passed through this area during the Civil War particularly the Wilderness Campaign in May of 1864. Many lives were lost in this area; thousands of men were led by great military men, Lt. General Ulysses Grant, General Robert E. Lee, Maj. General George Meade, Lt. General James Longstreet, Maj. General Warren, and Lt General Richard Ewell only to name a few. The Generals' Quarters Restaurant honors all those who fought a good fight for what they believed. Designed by Chef James Steele, menu selections reflect the foods Chef began cooking at an early age. Many dishes were inspired by his grandmother.
